Culto's Movie Talk

Summer Movies

Its been awhile since I wrote somethin here, well Ive been busy and I still am, but since the summer and till now Ive also been watchin movies, who'd expect I didnt? I decided I now post words about some of those Ive seen. Was on a record fair this last weekend, got me more LPs, mainly metal and thrash from the 80s, maybe u find a summary of some of em in the music blog after some listen-throughs. And updates. See u later.

EVIL DEAD (2013) Dir by Fede Alvarez

The story is a bit different in the 2013 version of EVIL DEAD and I like this, that they dont try to copy the original when they absolutely have to make a re-make. If ure really interested u might have read a hundreds of reviews already so I try keep it short. A drug-addict decide to stop her addiction and go to a cabin in the woods with brother and friends. She start to act and talk in strange ways and first they think its abstinences, until they understan its real demon possession! Great sound and pictures and a good movie, pure evil and horror from the beginnin to the end. But it was somethin so unique about the original from 1981, new thinkin and the special appearance of Bruce Campbell as well, so if I was to pick a fave, i say the original.

SVIDD NEGER (2003) Dir by Erik Smith Meyer

Been such a long time since I watched this movie, and now in the 10 anniversary of its release I thought I better see it again, and it resulted in great laughter once again. This is a very different kind of Norwegian comedy, indeed very racistic (and could expect that since its movie from North-Norway) and the movie-makers also got into some trouble becoz of this. Its so many funny scenes in this movie, the all-time drinkin old-man (but up early in the mornin to do the daily work, in the very isolated part of Norway, where story takes place), he is very resolute and havin some surprisingly funny comments. The younger man who spend his time wankin and very proud of bein strong (which is somethin the old-man takes advantage of), the nigger who believe he is a Sami (the people livin in the far north of Scandinavia). If u want somethin unusual, this is for u! Movie also got some nice female nude scenes.

THE LORDS OF SALEM (2012) Dir by Rob Zombie

Devilish story about some 17th century witches from Salem who were burned alive and the curse and prediction of returnin, and birth of Satan. A mysterious LP is delivered to the radio-station and people start go through changes. I like Rob Zombie movies, even this was a bit different and my faves still HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS. Anyway, if u like occult horror check this one out, and u will also see Sheri Moon Zombie's tits + naked ass (also appeared on the cover of the LP version of the 2012 Rob Zombie double-album «Mondo Sex Head», an album too much club-house for my likin!).

SEVEN PSYCHOPATHS (2012) Dir by Martin McDonagh

Very good movie with an unusual story about a script-writer (Colin Farrell) who's gonna write a movie-script about seven psychopaths, the script eventually happen to be linked to the story in his life and surroundings. Christopher Walken in charge of dog-kidnappin, Woody Harrelson the angry gangster who like his dog returned back to him. More psychopaths appear and its surprises, variations, crime fun, hallucinations and a movie I for sure recommend. The friend with more than one surprise is very well played by Sam Rockwell (who will also be in the re-make of POLTERGEIST, I havent got an idea what this movie will be like, out next year).

MORTUARY (2005) Dir by Tobe Hooper

A family move into a mortuary-house and start a business, but its somethin in the house that makes the dead come back to life. Even its zombies its not a typical zombie-movie and somethin I can like. If its a movie from Tobe Hooper I automatically look for some elements from THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE movies (1974 and 1986), and this movie's got some of it (mostly from T.C. Part II, a mis-shaped person in the hidings, and underground cave-ways with equipment). Worth checkin out.

KILLING THEM SOFTLY (2012) Dir by Andrew Dominik

This is an interestin movie about some people robbin a card-game and the revenge is on its way. Ray Liotta play a person who once was guilty of this same thing happened once before and is the prime suspect. Very good actin and a nice conclusion of James Gandolfini's good actin-career (there's a few more movies with him released after KILLING THEM SOFTLY that may be of interest as well). Brad Pitt is the enforcer who's gonna sort things out. I always liked good mob movies and this is one among them. Maybe some things about the storyline seems a bit «short» compared to «similar» classic movies of the past, but things comes out as not always expected, and I like it. If u like the genree Im sure its a movie for u too. Also expect to see a new way of illustratin headshots! Btw, Ray Liotta will appear in several crime movies to be released in 2014, so maybe its more interestin things on its way.

THE HANGOVER PART III (2013) Dir by Todd Philips

Data effects too much at times makes it look like a game, new PS3 games better, more suitable and interestin for this nowadays, Im not fond of usin this technic in movies (its more interestin when they make a game look like a movie!). Story feels a bit slow, maybe that is so just becoz I thought THE HANGOVER PART I (especially) and PART II both were excitin with loud laughter throughout the films. But when that is said, expect strange things to still happen and good laughter. A one hour and forty minutes good time spent! Storyline: Alan, Phil and Stu need find gold bars Mr Chow has stolen from an angry Mr Marshall (played by John Goodman). The wolfpack united again in a weddin (in the end), wakin up with a new so-far untold story (like the beginnin of THE HANGOVER PART I) and the basis made for a possible Part 4 (even I dont know if it be made). Stu (Ed Helms) appear in the new fake-family comedy WE'RE THE MILLERS about movin weed from Mexico to USA, out now, but I dont know what its like.

BURIED (2009) Dir by Rodrigo Cortes

Claustrophobic! A man who's been a driver in Iraq wakes up buried underground in a coffin. The kidnappers have left him with a phone and negotiation startin. The victim call US government in an attempt to make them help him get free, but he dont know where he is. Im surprised the whole movie 1 hour and 30 mins was filmed inside the coffin, still its excitin and suspense from the people he talk and desperation of the situation. Very original, Ive never seen anythin like it before! Director Rodrigo Cortes directed psychological thriller of paranormal activity called RED LIGHTS last year, with Robert De Niro in the role as the one with special power, but maybe BURIED is the best of the two?

RIPLEY'S GAME (2002) Dir by Liliana Cavani

Good suspense thriller about crime and a sophisticated life-style, both roles played with excellence by John Malkovich. The story takes place in Berlin and Italy. Assassination involves a new person unknown to the game. And as the other partner in crime get East-European gangsters whacked its gettin more dangerous and they better find a final solution or they will go the same way. Also worth checkin out; RED 2 (with John Malkovich) out since this summer and Im sure its the same kind of great action like RED (2010).

GANGSTER, GUNS & ZOMBIES (2012) Dir by Matt Mitchell

Cover-description of this movie was: «Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels meets Shaun Of The Dead» and it made me curious to find out what this movie was like. Its the old zombie story, but with gangsters on a get-away from a robbery, meetin zombies and survivors on their way, and with British humour from the beginnin to the end. Give it a chance if ure into the idea.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD (1990) Dir by Tom Savini

This is the re-make of the first, classic zombie movie George A. Romero made in 1968. The story is more or less the same but with some twitches, especially in the end. Some good laughs and some very brutal scenes. This is a good re-make and that's all you need to know. Tom Savini has a role in MACHETE KILLS which is out now.

STAND UP GUYS (2012) Dir by Fisher Stevens

Nice and funny crime comedy with Al Pacino (who play the convict just been released  from jail) and Christopher Walken (the old friend who's mission is to take him out). Their old friendship proves to be strong and makin the deed difficult to be done. The old timers spend the last hours of life together and do what they like. It is quality, just see it! Crime religious conspiracy movie with Christopher Walken called THE POWER OF FEW, out since this summer, may also of interest.

THE ICEMAN (2012) Dir by Ariel Vromen

True story mainly set to the 70s, about the 2-sided life of the mob contract killer Richard Kuklinski. Its a portrait of an ice-cold person who is said to have taken the life of more than 100 persons. The black and white and very brutal 70s cruel life is described with the similar cold-blooded persons in his surroundings and at the same time the sweet and carin person he is on the other side. Very realistic and perfect actin of all and everyone involved. At times its so dark it feels like one experience the story bein told. This movie is indeed very different from most (fictious) movies about horror and crime. So real it leaves a feelin of despair and hurt. THE ICEMAN is one unique movie and absolutely worth a place in a DVD collection.

TEXAS CHAINSAW 3D (2013) Dir by John Luessenhop

This movie starts off with a scene from the 70s, right after the end scene of the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE from 1974, and explains what happened. Bill Moseley (Chop Top in T.C. Part 2) plays Drayton Sawyer and Gunnar Hansen (Leatherface in the original) another member of the Sawyer family. It seems like the whole Sawyer family dies in a shoot out and fire, except for a little girl who is raised by 2 of those who take part in the attack on her family. Many years later this girl gets a letter, tellin her she's inherited a house and so she finds out who she really is. With some friends along she goes on a journey to this place, and she finds out that also Leatherface is still alive. It seems like the script-writer has forgotten about TEXAS CHAINSAW 2 (1986) and its story. Its also some other things (especially in the beginnin) that I dont like about this new movie. But its absolutely not bad, its got a couple of scary surprises too, which even made me jump up in the chair shakin for a moment. So Id say its a movie worth check it out!

PROMETHEUS (2012) Dir by Ridley Scott

This movie is a good choice to start the day if uve got nothin else to do than decided watchin movies. PROMETHEUS is nice sci-fi entertainment set to a future time of 2090. A place between Earth and another galaxy discovered to have unheard-of items and livin creatures and a team of scientists and geologists go there to find out more. If u like Alien movies I guess u like this too. Ridley Scott is announced to be the producer of PROMETHEUS 2. Also announced is an untitled new sci-fi Blade Runner project, which he is said to be directin, like the original classic from 1982.

OBSERVE AND REPORT (2009) Dir by Jody Hill

Very funny comedy with Seth Rogen who plays a security guard on a mall, but for everytin else in the world, wants to be a cop. I read a description about it in the tv-guide, first I thought this was the movie with King Of Queens actor Kevin James, MALL COP, also good American comedy, but if Seth Rogen is involved its usually American comedy pretty much more over the edge. I had some great laughs while watchin OBSERVE AND REPORT, and unless ure a sensitive person, but rather want comedies up-to-date Im sure u will have plenty of good laughs too. I will look for the DVD as I plan on see it for the 3rd time.

NORSKE BYGGEKLOSSER (1972) Dir by Pål Bang Hansen

A classic from the first moment, with Norwegian in ur mind u get it. This is story of a person who gonna move from the city tower block to a house he gonna build in the county side. He finds out this causes more difficulty and trouble than he could ever imagine, he sure experience murphy's law and it never seems to be an end with luck. This is a true classic Norwegian comedy. Rolv Wesenlund (R.I.P.) in many different roles, as the sardonic and very unpleasant neighbour, the short-of-time speedy racer, the buildin-inspector who is not happy about what he see, the slow-pace carpenter, the far-out bankman, the fining cop. Maybe it works best as a comedy for Norwegians, hilarious! But if ure foreigner, try it anyway, if u get a chance.

REPO! THE GENETIC OPERA (2008) Dir by Darren Lynn Bousman

Horror musical about an epidemic and a firm who start up business as loan-sharks with human organs. If u not pay, the Repo Man will come and get u. Hearin the word musical makes me suspicious. Can this be any good at all? Yeah, this movie proved to be somethin interestin and unusual. Geneco firm's boss played by Paul Sorvino (mob boss in GOODFELLAS) and this time he can show his authority as kind of soprano. One of his sons (who both wanna inherit the firm Geneco) played well by Bill Moseley. The music is rock and its experimental. Repo The Genetic Opera original stageplay and screenplay by Darren Smith / Terrance Zdunich (the latter wrote the horror-musical THE DEVIL'S CARNIVAL of last year).

WRONG TURN 3 (2009) Dir by Declan O'Brien

I remember I liked the first WRONG TURN movie, but its been so many, I cant remember which ones Ive seen. At least now I know WRONG TURN 3 is a good movie and very brutal horror about some prisoners who end up in the woods with inbreedin cannibals.

THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (2011) Dir by David Fincher

This is the English-speakin two and a half hours version of MÄN SOM HATAR KVINNOR, the first movie in the Swedish Millennium thriller trilogy. An old unsolved murder-case now investigated by a journalist (Daniel Craig) and the hacker Lisbet Salander (now different actress), a family mystery and a connection to nazis. Recognize some scenes Ive seen done the Swedish way, the English version is ok entertainment, but if its a good Scandinavian movie made into English, I guess I will always pick the original as my fave. Got me a (still-sealed) nice lookin fold-out paper edition of the DVD, and was surprised to find out the original DVD looks like a burnt DVD-R, looks a bit strange when the package so well-done and think this idea worked much better with the official version of BORAT.

THE UNTOUCHABLES (1987) Dir by Brian De Palma

This is a classic cop and gangster movie about the prohibition time in USA in the 1930, where gangsters like Al Capone were fightin over territories to sell imported alcohol. Cops and government try stop the bootleggers once and for all in this story of corruption, crime, business, hunt for justice and fame and at times brutal. Andy Garcia and Kevin Costner rather young on this time but present their roles in a very good and convincin way like the movie's veterans Sean Connery and Robert De Niro (Al Capone). Story seen from the eyes of the cops, unlike the mob movies made by Martin Scorsese a few years later.

BANLIEUE 13 – ULTIMATUM (2009) Dir by Patrick Alessandrin

Usually I dont watch many French movies and thats becoz of their language. Even if ure like me, I would still recommend this movie, which is a kind of futuristic action with martial arts on high octan. A corrupt politician creates a riot in one part of Paris that he wants erased from the map in an attempt to get a new buildin-contract there. Its the most armed criminal part of the city. One person from each side of the law unite and form a team to stop the vicious plans. I liked this kind of action movie, which is the sequel to BANLIEUE 13, released in 2004 and the first one is what I heard supposed to be even better.

BAD TASTE (1987) Dir by Peter Jackson

This was one real unusual movie when it was released back in 1987 and surprised me like so many others. Its Peter Jacksons first (low budget) movie dealin with some humanlike aliens who have invaded a part of New Zealand. Its much sick humour in this splatter-comedy and still now much  laughter, as it was back in the old days. If take into consideration this to be the beginnin of Peter Jackson's movie career and he later made the world's most expensive and difficult movie (THE LORD OF THE RINGS), we can say; everythin can be possible in this world!

BRAINDEAD aka DEAD ALIVE (1989) Dir by Peter Jackson

5 years after the debut-movie, Peter Jackson was back with a new splatter-comedy, which starts off in Sumatra in 1957, where a special kind of monkey is taken out of that place in Indonesia and in present time its still kept in a zoo. A person is biten and is infected with the virus turnin the human into a zombie. This is another interestin example of Peter Jacksons world of splatter and comedy, with lots of sick humour and LOTS of gore! Would be interestin if he chose to do one more of this kind.

ABSOLUTT BLÅMANDAG (1998) Dir by Petter Næss

(English name of the movie: ABSOLUTE HANGOVER). This is absolutely one of Norway's best comedies ever! Its about a person who is goin on a trip with his wife to her parents place. He just decides to have one beer with the pals on the pub first. Well, the one beer is soon empty and changed for another and so it goes on till he reach a state of total drunkness. Walkin slalom with a bicycle and oars (for sport rowin) he reach home, but his wife leaves the apartment as planed and he is left alone, so he decides to continue the drinkin. He is in a very good mood, until he wakes up on Monday, with a total blackout, not rememberin anythin of Saturday and Sunday. His apartment is a total mess and the real fun starts when unknown people appear and the happenings of the weekend are revealed to him and with even many more surprises to come. Great actin by Ingar Helge Gimle, who looks like he's really drunk. Ive had some blackouts myself in life, and with that in mind it makes this movie even more funny. What to do and say when u cant remember anythin?

MANNAJA: A Man Called Blade (1977) Dir by Sergio Martino

This is one of my fave spaghetti westerns, even it was released as late as 1977 (about 10 years after the most popular era of spaghetti westerns). Blade is a bounty-hunter who's special weapon is an axe. He arrives in a silvertown where trouble there is to be solved. The most remarkable scene is the one where he is buried with only his head over ground and eyes forces open to look at the sun. He is expected dead, but instead of turnin blind he comes back for a revenge. Recommended for fans of good, old westerns, with pictures, mood and the general way things were made before. (For fans of 70s horror, worth mentionin that Sergio Martino directed the great giallo movie TORSO (1973) and MOUNTAIN OF THE CANNIBAL GOD (1978), the latter with fame actor Stacy Keach and the James Bond girl Ursula Andress (who's havin several nude scenes in that movie), makin it an unusual cannibal movie).

THE TOOLBOX MURDERS (2003) Dir by Tobe Hooper

This is the remake of the original from 1977 that Ive mentioned before. This version is set to the present time of 2003, but still with that 70s feelin, I like that. But even that is so, this remake is not as interestin or as special as the original. Its a different story, but with some similarities, takin place in a buildin with many apartments where things are not exactly as it should be. THE TOOLBOX MURDERS 2003 is alright, but its not got the same wibe and excitement as the original.

A MAN CALLED HORSE (1969) Dir by Elliot Silverstein

This is not a western about cowboys, but an Indian movie in the Wild West, about a rich Englishman who lose his title when been captured by Sioux indians. The most remarkable scene is where Richard Harris is pierced with cloven hoofs and knives in the chest and lifted up in the air by ropes. Nice educational good, old classic about Indian custom, and may perhaps have been an inspiration for live performin pain-artists?

NORTHVILLE CEMETERY MASSACRE (1976) Dir by William Dear & Thomas L. Dyke

Biker movie with Scorpions MC in the main role as Spirits MC, a non-A4 gang who mainly just like to have fun, but are innocent accused of rape of a girl (actually we see and know its the sheriff), father is convinced its the MC and starts a war. I heard this was supposed to be among the better biker movies of old days, well I think it could been better, but its got its value in how it describes prejudice of the unusual back in old days (movie originally meant to be called Freedom R.I.P.).

MADE IN L.A. aka L.A. TAKEDOWN (1989) Dir by Michael Mann

This is Michael Mann's first version of what later would be his action-robbery-masterpiece HEAT (1995). With this in mind its of some interest watch this «pilot» just to see how much better it really would be 6 years later.

SUPERNATURAL ACTIVITY (2012) Dir by Derek Lee Nixon

Parody on tv-series about spiritual and paranormal things and movies of the same kind. Some laughter it brings, but mostly too stupid (in frustration waitin for it to end) and all in all a rather simple movie.

CHOKE (2008) Dir by Clark Gregg

Very good comedy, sometimes similar to SCRUBS tv-series, but over the edge in comparition and with much focus on sex. Man meet all these unusual people on the hospital where his mother is. Eventually he finds out much more about life and what may be its philosophy, with sinners and saints, sane and insane, heroes and victims. Some great laughs, excitin and interestin story with changes on the way. Lots of crazy humour, and Sam Rockwell good choice for the role.

REMBRANDT (2003) Dir by Jannik Johansen

Danish film-makers know really well how to make good crime-comedies and this is one of them. About some petty criminals who happen to steal a very valuable Rembrandt paintin, first without knowin what it is and when findin it out, their method of tryin to sell it is all very funny. Based on a true story that happened in Denmark in 1999, but with a funny twist to the story and the end.

MENNESKE I SOLEN (2011) Dir by Per Olav Sørensen

Norwegian drama-comedy about two rather normal, still dysfunctional couples who meet at a Swedish camping where they gonna stay durin their vacation. This movie was described as a drama, and in one way its true coz the end of the world is near, but when I saw the name of Ingar Helge Gimle (ABSOLUTT BLÅMANDAG) I would expect some humour as well, and I was right. This is a rather unusual movie as well, watch it and find out!

BRIDGE TO NOWHERE (2009) Dir by Blair Underwood

Crime drama about some youngsters who decide start a business as pimps and sellin coke. The movie is ok, but that's about it, nothin new or special.

ALI G, AIII (2000) Dir by James Bobin, Steve Smith

Sacha Baron Cohen play da nigga rapper with his own talk show. This DVD incl some of the best from Da Ali G Show + extra uncensored material which was never broadcasted. Lots of fun, his attitude and questions makes many of the interview-objects rather uncomfortable. Also on this DVD the first appearance of Borat, datin back to 1997 when he visits U.K. A DVD worth ownin.

CASINO (1995) Dir by Martin Scorsese

This movie needs no description, if u havent seen it buy it, if u have it, see it again. I got hold of the 10th anniversary 2-Disc DVD with lots of extra material. This is the best kind of film-makin, its good, interestin, suspense crime story very well done, professional with the right actors, costumes, settings and with lots of things happenin. Almost 3 hours without sleepin moments. In case uve missed out on some quality movies of the same kind, I recommend u get urself GOODFELLAS (1990) as well. And if u wanna see a good movie about how the Las Vegas casino world got started with the buildin of the first casino, Flamingo, I recommend BUGSY (1991).

GIVE 'EM HELL MALONE (2009) Dir by Russel Mulcahy

Crime story I'd expected more of the word Malone. Not really good actin in this movie (except perhaps Ving Rhames) and no good dialogue, not a good script and I dont understan why the director would allow the final result turn out like this.

NEIGHBOR FOR SALE aka EVERYTHING MUST GO (2010) Dir by Dan Rush

A laid-back comedy about a man, played by Will Ferrell, who loses his job and wife on the same day. The locks to the house is changed, his bank account has been blocked and all his things is in the garden. He opens a beer, sit down in his chair and his 5-days-maximum life in the garden sale starts. Pretty nice sunday-movie even its not among the most hilarious things Will Ferrell has done. This is Dan Rusk first and only movie so far. More movies with Will Ferrel on its way, in post-production now ANCHORMAN 2: The Legend Continues, I think this will be great fun like the first ANCHORMAN movie from 2004 (also with Will Ferrell), expected available in the end of the year.

DRACULA DEAD BUT LOVING IT (1995) Dir by Mel Brooks

This is a parody on Bram Stoker's DRACULA with Leslie Nielsen in the role as the vampire count. Very well done and many funny scenes. A kind of crazy comedy absolutely worth checkin out.

THE GODFATHER TRILOGY (1972, 1974, 1990) Dir by Francis Ford Coppola

Ive had The Coppola Restoration box for awhile, almost nine hours movies and more than four hours with bonus material on two additional discs. Decided to finally see it all again and Im surprised to find out how interestin and excitin this movie-trilogy still is. Im not much fond of drama, but The Godfather movies are definately my fave in this genree. The Restoration versions of the 70s movies have improved sound and picture, and in one of the documentaries we can see the clearly noticable difference of a better look. Ive mentioned some crime movies in this blog and The Godfather is the original of this kind. Story of a boy who immigrates from Sicily to USA after his family is killed by the mob-boss, he marry and get children and with friends in the New York, Little Italy area he establish respect and business that will be the basis for a large mob-family. The story goes over many decades and several generations, a family-story of joy and sorrow, kindness and retribution. Filmed in Sicily and New York (where a street of the present time was made very precisely look like an older time, leavin the inhabitants out of their homes durin the time it took filmin there). Film-companies didnt have much belief in movies like this on the time and they wanted changes and on a time it was even uncertain if Francis Ford Coppola would still be the director to finish this project, but he was and things were done the way he wanted it, lucky for us all now coz this is a masterpiece of a trilogy! Its so much that can be said about this movies, for instance Al Pacino would probably never been such a big star if it wasnt for the Godfather movies, but enough said, I leave it to u to find out, and if ure born on a time that makes u think this is too old kind of movie, well give it a try and maybe u change ur mind.

Movie Weekend

HOUSE OF THE RISING SUN (2011) Dir by Brian A. Miller

Crime action movie about an ex-cop who's now security guard for an illegal casino where a robbery takes place. Ok as entertainment, but nothin special about it (except the damn big actor Dave Bautista) and misguidin cover w/Danny Trejo, who only appear briefly 2 times.

THALE (2012) Dir by Aleksander L. Nordaas

Norwegian movie about Norwegian folklore of huldre (nymph, fairy), human-like creatures with a different shape and thale, livin hidden in the Norwegian woods. This movie is somethin very unusual from what one use to see, sometimes funny becoz of the two characters different behaviour: one calm and nonchalant, the other a frightened neurotic. This movie is kind of in the same vein as TROLLJEGEREN, but I think TROLLJEGEREN is a far more interestin movie and more things happenin in it. Whatsoever, THALE is still pretty good and if u lookin for somethin unusual I sure think u better check it out. And in case u didnt know, the Norwegian government keep troll and hulder secret to not scare foreign tourists away! DVD also incl 2 short-movies KJØTTSÅR (COLD) and BAK LUKKEDE DØRER (IN CHAMBERS).

Waitin in excitement for 2 other up-comin Norwegian movies: KILL BULJO 2 (to be released first) and Tommy Wirkola's DEAD SNOW 2: Red vs Dead (production will start again in August).

KILLER JOE (2011) Dir by William Friedkin

This is one real killer comedy, lots of fun, action and death. A stupid father and son decide to have the mother killed to collect the life-insurance money and hire a cop who also happen to be a contract-killer. But things dont turn out as planed and theres quite a lot of things happenin to make it a real entertainin movie with great actin. Worth ownin and watch again!

BERNIE (2011) Dir by Richard Linklater

When I saw the name Jack Black I thought I better check out this comedy and it was a right pick. This is a movie about hypocrisy, and how it easily (with the right skills) can fool a bunch of people. The best way of doin this is through religion, church and funeral agency. Jack Black plays this role very convincingly. Also its funny to see the reaction of those involved and their opinions. Jack Black even once again show his talent for singin, even its not rock this time.

RED STATE (2011) Dir by Kevin Smith

3 youths find an internet invitation for group-sex and go for it. But somethin go wrong and they end up in an armed fanatical religious sect as sinner to be slaughtered. RED STATE is an action with a horror wibe and lots of shootin. Good, interestin story and also suspense and with unexpected kills. In the apocalyptic view with no mercy for the godless and very brutal attitude its even some humour filled in. RED STATE is a dark, scary ride with variations on the way and different kind of movie. I sure like it!

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (2011) Dir by Drew Goddard

I heard so many good words about this movie, I thought it was time I better check it out. Usually so very many good critics doesnt necessarily convince me its such a good movie before Ive seen it and made up my own mind about it. Often it leaves me with no such big expectations, but this time I can understan all the good words! This is a horror so exceptional and unlike anythin Ive seen! Can start with sayin its got some thing from both EVIL DEAD, HELLRAISER and CUBE and it all set to a reality show. 5 youth goin to a cabin in the woods, u think u more or less know the story, but I promise u tht u can not and will not be able to guess the whole story and multitude of unexpected scenes of twists and variations. As a matter of fact, its got a bit of ALL horror-genrees in it, and when u thought uve seen more then u would imagine, u find out its just the beginnin of the end where a whole lot more of surprises happen. And its even humour in it. THE CABIN IN THE WOODS continues on in excitement and with originality. When the killers, monsters, ghosts, zombies, vicious adventure creatures (and whtever u can think of) have done their dark deeds and u think things over and cool and safe, its the unusual Hollywood: not a happy endin. Director Drew Goddard has said in an interview: if he was able to only direct one movie in his life he would put all his best ideas in it, and unbelievably he has succeeded with that with this top quality result. If ure the kind of person who only watch one horror movie a year choose THE CABIN IN THE WOODS!

ARCTIC BLAST (2010) Dir by Brian Trenchard Smith

Australian catastrophe-movie about a new iceage. Looks like a typical tv-movie. Not worth 91 mins of ur time for entertainment. Bluray will go on its way far from my collection.

THE TORTURED (2009) Dir by Robert Lieberman

Bill Moseley play the role of a schizo-psycho who kidnap and kill a 6 year old child. On his property several more corpses are found and he is sentenced to a 25 years imprisonment. The parents of the 6 year old think this is not a fair enough punishment and make a plan to execute the deeds they consider justice: retribution in torture. Producers of SAW is behind this movie, so I guess u have an idea of what to expect. Also an interestin twist to the plot in the very end of the film! Bill Moseley can be seen in a pretty long list of up-comin movies, one of them MANSON GIRLS which is bein filmed now, where he play Charles Manson. Ron Jeremy is also in this movie, with a suitable role as porn director. MANSON GIRLS will be released next year. Another movie with Bill Moseley is the horror THE MANGLED. Also starrin Edwin Neal (who played the hitchhicker in the original TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 1974) and Michael Berryman (known for the original THE HILLS HAVE EYES 1977 and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS).

ON THE ROAD (2012) Dir by Walter Salles

Drame road-movie about simple way of the poor in the late 1940s and early 1950s America. With focus on poetry and writin, sex, drugs and alcohol. In search of life and its meanin on a journey through the different states and landscapes and a few stops in Mexico too. Movie about dreams and how they turn out to be (or not) in reality.

Movies since last time

-James Gandolfini (18 Sept 1961 – 19 June 2013) died last night in Rome, R.I.P. I was always hopin there would be more episodes of SOPRANOS, guess the last, mysterious episode in 2007 be the last of it.

-Its summer in Norway and it doesnt last long so its important set off some extra time for beer. Anyway, Ive seen some movies since last time and I have my words about some of them posted here in the blog this time.

SUBCONSCIOUS CRUELTY (2000) Dir by Karim Hussain

S.C. is a rather disturbin description of life, what may happen in it and the meanin of life, with much focus on sex and violence (looks real brutal). A narration talks about his rather shockin life philosophy to pictures of the same explicit kind. First 50 mins is the 1st of 2 different stories. The 2nd story has the same strong images and with more of religion (or perhaps I should say blasphemy). S.C. is an art-movie and definately the kind of movie u dont see every day. I got hold of a DVD version with the deleted scenes, but the most shockin scenes is in the 80 mins version. This DVD also include short-movie FACTS ARE SAFETY, which is worth checkin out as well. S.C. was stopped at the border in the attempt to get it back to Canada. What they did to get it into the country was re-namin it SLAPPY THE BLUE PIG and callin it a family movie with an innocent cover (the good, old trick of the 80s!). This low-budget movie took 6 years to finish and the waitin worth it for its shock value. Btw, producer Mitch Davis also been involved with some metal bands before.

THE BETRAYED (2008) Dir by Amanda Gusack

This is for sure one good, intelligent and excitin (as well as surprisin) thriller about some swindle and retribution in the gangster world and it all happen in one room with nothin in it. Check it out!

GAMER (2009) Dir by Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor

Very good and intelligent futuristic movie about technology and the gameworld, where real humans are the characters in the game. Society (like ps3 home where one walk around) and Slayers, with deathrow convicts who get a chance to be free if they survive 30 sessions. Excellent actin of Gerard Butler and Michael C. Hall (DEXTER). Recommended whether ure into games, action or want to have a look into a possible future. Mark Neveldine now makin a movie called THE VATICAN TAPES (to be released in 2014) about a leaked tape of a Vatican exorcism.

MURDER PARTY (2007) Dir by Jeremy Saulnier

This movie been described to be in the vein of BAD TASTE and BRAINDEAD, but I cant see the similarity and I wouldnt compare it to those. MURDER PARTY is rather dull as a splatter-comedy. Though after an hour runnin time it is some action and happenings. Jeremy Saulnier has directed a 2013 thriller called BLUE RUIN (not sure what its like).

QUEST FOR FIRE (1981) Dir by Jean Jacques Annaud

Wanted to see this movie again, Ive not got hold of it yet, but it was runnin on tv one day. Story is back 8000 years where fire was important on Earth, if havin it one could eat food not raw and shelter for coldness and it also meant great power over others. When some kind of prehistoric monkey-humans are attacked by some other kind of race the fire is lost. 3 from the tribe are sent out on a quest for fire. All what they experience on their journey is back in time, nature, the animal kingdom and all very primitive: the way they act, talk, behave is somethimes very funny (one example lust and sex), but most important, this is a very historical movie. Wherever country ure from u dont need any subtitles coz its really no language in this movie that can be translated and mostly they make kind of monkey «oohhh, oohhh» sounds. Also interestin see Ron Perlman in this good, old classic now after seen him in SONS OF ANARCHY the last few years. Definately a movie I recommend! Ron Perlman will star in a pretty long list of various film projects, most of them to be released this year.

SHOOTING GALLERY (2005) Dir by Keoni Waxman

Nice, intelligent and interestin crime action thriller takin place in a pool hall. Hustler bettin money story startin in a time before the movie begins, with a pool-player, corrupt cop and gangster boss havin the 3 most important roles. Keoni Waxman has directed a new action movie about a criminal empire to be released this year, starrin Danny Trejo and Steven Seagal. Danny Trejo star in more than 20 upcomin movies (!) and many of them seems to be real interestin.

THE REVENANT (2009) Dir by D. Kerry Prior

I didnt expect too much of this movie but it proved to be a real funny vampire-zombie movie with an actual original story. Its not as gory as its been described and more comedy than horror, but damn funny throughout its runnin time. In the search for blood unexpected things happen so if u wanna have some good laughs about the subject darkness and death I truly recommend this one.

New Rob Zombie movie

-New Rob Zombie movie THE BROAD STREET BULLIES is dealin with aggression in the American Ice-Hockey milieu. Expected released in 2015. Rob Zombie's THE LORDS OF SALEM is out, but so far Ive not seen it (the DVD premiere will be in Sweden on the 17th of July). I believe this to be in the same quality way of some of his better movies. THE LORDS OF SALEM soundtrack album was released last month. Rob Zombie has some idea of bringin HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES to broadway and make it a musical...! (More about Rob Zombie if u scroll down to Music).

-SUPER (2010) Dir by James Gunn, is a different kind of super-hero movie, similar to KICK-ASS (2010) and nice entertainment. Starrin Rainn Wilson (THE OFFICE) and several people u have seen before. And btw, Rob Zombie doin the Voice of God. Rainn Wilson will star in an upcumin movie entitled GIRLFRIEND EXPERIENCE, story: thinkin it will make him more desirable to women, a lonely nerd hires a prostitute to pretend she's his girlfriend. Hahahahaha.

Car-races and paranormal thriller

-Ive been addicted to car-races again now recently. Im not a pro, but its damn fun and after one beer one can consentrate much better about the road (make tht a suggestion for the politicians to change some rules here in Norway). After 8 beer or so one may feel like capable of everythin but more off the road thn on it, so yeah, its a difference...u c? Well, becoz of this its not been many movies lately, but Ive seen some, and a few of them I thought it was worth mentionin. Posted in S.N. New & Old.

-The paranormal thriller THE CONJURING w/Vera Farmiga (the mother in BATES MOTEL) in theatres in Norway 26th of July. Dir by James Wan (the first SAW movie).

Troma release & movie reviews

-TEENAPE VS THE MONSTER NAZI APOCALYPSE (dir by Chris Seaver) released by Troma 7th of May (movie released on internet 8th of Feb). Ive not seen this movie yet, where Hitler is raised to life and start the Fourth Reich, but since Lloyd Kaufman is one of the few people in the world who dont wanna charge people money for entertainment he uploaded it for free watchin on the youtube troma channel.

-Seen the 5 first episodes of BATES MOTEL now and Im surprised to find out its still in the same good quality way of the 1st episode, excitin and even several stories in one.

-Ive penned down some words about some of the movies Ive seen lately. Posted in S.N. New & Old.

The Life In Nazareth

Premier screenin of «The Endless Rock Party», the documentary about the rock band NAZARETH will be in Prague, Czech cinema on the 16th of May. In April it has been some talkin of havin the fans premiere on the 8th of May, but this is now confirmed not to happen. But if u are in this place of the world in the middle of May u can be one of those who have a special cinema experience. For more words about the band scroll down to the Music Blog.

The Start Of Bates

-Bates Motel (2013) tv-series, NBC Studios. How will a tv-series work, based on characters from the novel and the movie Psycho, set to a modern present time but with a story where the mother of Norman Bates is still alive? Well, it works very well in the first episode we are introduced to the things happenin in the life of 17 years old Norman: deaths, movin from one location to another to establish a new life, the behaviour and attitude of Norman and the people in the surroundings and now we are also for the first time introduced to the real mother, Norma. I think its interestin, suspense and feels like informative. I would expect see Norman Bates with a smart fon would be a total failure, but its not, and Im actually excited to follow this tv-series. I was busy and forgot to see episode 2, but its no crisis, everythin run in reprise and reprise on tv nowadays, so I guess I just be a little patient.

-More about movies later, Ive seen quite a few lateley and I still have some hundred DVDs layin on the floor here that I have yet not seen.

TromaDance 2013

-Last time I posted somethin here was April Fool Day, and I guess you know...there is no C.O.S. movie with Bruce Willis in the makin hehe.

-Want somethin religious? Well, here's an alternative to traditional bible story, FIST OF JESUS (2012), Spain, Dir by David Munoz & Adrian Cardona. Jesus wakes the dead back to life, but as zombies. Roman zombie soldiers and cowboy zombies also show up and challenge Jesus, whos only weapon is a fish (Jesus skills makes the 1 fish become many). Ive never seen anythin like this before and its real gory and funny as well. I recommend this short-movie! You will probably see them again in the full-length ONCE UPON A TIME IN JERUSALEM. https://www.youtube.com/user/FistOfJerusalem?feature=watch

-I understan why FIST OF JESUS was chosen among other international independent films for the 14th TromaDance Film Festival, to be in Asbury Park, NJ, 12-13 April. No Entry Fee! TromaDance is the first and only film festival of the people, for the people and by the people. Hit last year: BANANA MOTHERFUCKER (described as mix between ATTACK OF THE KILLER TOMATOES and CANNIBAL HOLOCAUST yeah). 24 films this year, among them: 2 HOURS, THE NAZI FROM BEYOND, KERMANDO, EL INCREDIBLE TRUENO ESCARLATA.

-Zombies, zombies everywhere nowadays...anyway, I watched 2 HOURS (Dir by Michael Ballif, 2012) and I must say its well done. Takes 26 mins and 20 secs watch it. (PS! Its no humour in this film). 2nd short-movie planned and worth checkin out the 4 mins WITHIN (shotgun in the woods, strange and bit funny end).

-KERMANDO is a short damn funny violent animation from Iran (2012) director Hamed Ahrami. One worm stand up to 2 chickens massacre of their population.

-Ive seen the pilot of THE NAZI FROM BEYOND (2013), web-series of 5 episodes, 1st January 2014 inspired by comic & grotesque trash movies from the 80s and yeah thats exactly what it is. I think it need some more improvement before it be fund-raised (for instance cam focus).

-EL INCREDIBLE TRUENO ESCARLATA (2012) documentary about the Spanish superhero Scarlet Thunder, hahaha funny! Director David Macian previously made (real) documentary about the Spanish extraordinary whistler Curro Savoy (THE GOOD AND THE BAD AND THE UGLY), called VIVIR DEL AIRE (2010). His crooked teeth (high insured) may be the wonder of his work.

-For more info see http://tromadance.com/

Ilsa Returns

-I can see the signs of the spring through the window, can soon drink the beer outside again, nice!

-After a break lastin 26 years Dyanne Thorne (the Ilsa movies) is back as an actress. She will appear in 2 movies in 2013. HOUSE OF THE WITCHDOCTOR (also star Bill Moseley, about 2 criminals who become hunted, not hunters, as they do a burglary and confront a cult leader). HOUSE OF FORBIDDEN SECRETS is a horror where also the Troma President Lloyd Kaufman appears. Rev. Dyanne and Howard Maurer doin afternative weddings in Las Vegas (thats not movie). Lloyd Kaufman is actually actin in about 15 up-comin movies, BACK FROM THE DEAD, POLYPORE and MIDNIGHT SNOW just to mention a few. He is also directin RETURN TO NUKE 'EM HIGH. And one year back he acted in the adult horror EVIL HEAD, a different version of EVIL DEAD with actors who look very much the same as those in the original. U can see uncensored hardcore version here: http://www.burningangel.com/store/384/evil-head-horror-dvds (and yeah, this is not the first time Lloyd Kaufman been involved in porn).

-The preparations for the long awaited blockbuster movie about The Church Of Satan is finished and the shootin will start on the 6th of June this year (actually makin it the Number of the Beast in numerological meanin). The script is based upon the life in and around the C.O.S. durin the foundation year 1966 and the years to follow. The castin was complete in January, with Hollywood fame Bruce Willis in the role as Anton Szandor LaVey. The rest of the cast will soon be revealed. Warner Bros has yet not set a release date but it is estimated to be out late 2014. The movie's workin title is SZANDOR SOCIETY.

Culto Talkin Music

Agonia news

-New albums out on Agonia Rec in Europe yesterday: TEMPLE OF BAAL «Verses Of Fire» and GLORIOR BELLI «Gators Rumble, Chaos Unfurls» (B.M. with a feelin of Blues and 70s sound! Cool, worth checkin out). RAGNAROK on European tour with INCANTATION in November, startin in Aalborg, Denmark 08.11. Venomenon (NATTSOL) will be fillin in for HansFyrste (who has unavoidable commitments) to do the RAGNAROK vocal on this tour. New albums with CODE and EPHEL DUATH to be released in Europe 19 Nov and new INFERNO album out worldwide 24 Nov.

-MORTEM/PENTACLE «Liquefied Blood Of The Saints/Five Candles Burning Red» split-ep out on Iron Pegasus last month. Also new PENTACLE, MORTEM and SABBAT T-shirts available. The Iron Pegasus online shop is open again.

Video, signin and nostalgy

-International avantgarde B.M. Band CODE sign with Agonia Records for their 3rd album to be released later this year.

-Ray Manzarek (12 Feb 1939 – 20 May 2013, R.I.P.) was apart of formin the legendary acid-trippin rock band THE DOORS. I still think quite a few of their songs is just as good now as back in the 60s and recommended for new listeners to check out.

-Official music video for ABORYMs «Dirty» was uploaded to youtube yesterday. Cool video takin place in a bar. CD/LP and t-shirt available from Agonia Records. http://youtu.be/IGYgMjuyejc

New streamin

-Earlier 2day I forgot to mention the 3rd song from the new PEST album is now available for streamin online. 2nd song available online some days back. Seek and u will find.

-Of the present time thr is no official PERDITION HEARSE, THYABHORRENT or SHADOW DANCERS homepage or fb page, even some may claim so.

-11 songs re-release of SABBATs 10 anniversary album out on Iron Pegasus.

Theorder666

Theorder666 joined fb 11 June. I mentioned this new band before (without mentionin the band name). If u scroll down u may find out 2 of the band members. The 2 other band members Im sure u have heard about, it will be revealed later. The music is 80s B.M.

SCHAEFER Release Party

SCHAEFERs debut album, the vinyl release «Herregud» is out and the Release Party was on Saga Hotel in Sarpsborg yesterday. Its not much rock'n'roll goin on in this town nowadays, but yesterday was a nice gatherin of people from the Synth genree to Extreme Metal and all in between. Everybody in a good mood, drinkin and havin fun. Its summer in Norway, not dark so soon and the beer tastes even better. Even so, its from one or another unexplainable reason some who still chose to stay home and watch TV. Whatsoever, enough people had attended the event to make it a great rock'n'roll party and everyone got a numbered copy of the LP, signed by the members in the band. Saga Hotel is a nice place as well, and the door was open to the long balcony, which was frequently visited by smokers. The live show was delayed for quite a long time, but this was no prob, the band did a great performance of their songs and while waitin a lot of talkin and meetin people one havent seen for awhile, nice! Lots of red light this time. Ive mentioned SCHAEFER before, so let me just conclude this report by sayin the band have created a new style called Schaefer Rock and u must listen to their music to know what Im talkin about. U can find pix from the party and the live show in Photos.

WATAIN and TOBY KNAPP

-WATAIN announce the openin show of the new world tour in their hometown Uppsala 24 Aug to be spectacular and where they can do more than possible from the rest of the tour. New Ep «All That May Bleed» (21 June) and album «The Wild Hunt» (19 Aug) to be released by Century Media.

-TOBY KNAPP new album «Static Warfare» to be out on Shredguy Rec 2 July. Sounds, I think more aggressive than before on the intro suitable to the weapon-cover (a heavily armed un-concealed Trojan Horse) and the profession continues on in the song «Weaponology». This is Prog Metal and awhole lot of things is goin on from the very beginnin till the end of the album. Its fast, its sometimes a sound makin me think of weapons, its technical, its got an enjoyable harmony and mood. Good example of it all in the song «Plasma Spheroid». Toby Knapp for sure know how to handle the guitar on this all-instrumental album of variation, but I must say I miss some vocal. For more info on his other projects check his website.

News from Agonia Records

-I mentioned the 1st disc of the new ABORYM album «Dirty» 27 May and here's some words about the 2nd disc. I never thought I would experience ABORYM doin covers in this way and really high quality, interestin versions of IRON MAIDEN «Hallowed Be Thy Name» (indeed very good!), PINK FLOYD «Comfortably Numb» (this surprised me the most and Ive played it over and over again) and NINE INCH NAILS «Hurt». Personally I always thought Johnny Cash version of «Hurt» was the best and most emotional. ABORYM's version is a bit more like the original version composed by Trent Reznor. Anyway, with these cover-songs ABORYM prove that they can also handle other music styles professionally. The 2nd disc of the «Dirty» release also incl 2 re-arranged and re-recorded ABORYM songs from before and 1 unreleased song written by Alberto Penzin (ex-SCHIZO).

-Swedish B.M. duo PEST formed in 1997 and used different drummers. New album «The Crowning Horror» to be released by Agonia Rec 18 June (North America: 9 July). I like this album, the underground sound and the music. Its a different kind of B.M. To me it sounds more like very raw and brutal H.M. Cool melodies, a good example of this in the song «Eternal Curse». Quite relaxed tempo mostly but with variations through the album, its also music like speed and thrash metal with a feelin of 80s B.M. bands and a mournful intro. I recommend this album!

-SVARTSYN: «Black Testament» album released by Agonia Rec 28 May (North America: 25 June). This used to be a complete band but seems to be a one-man-band with a guest drummer now. Startin with a strange violin intro, the rest of the album is rather typical fast B.M.

-French fast D.M./B.M. band TEMPLE OF BAAL now puttin final touches on new album to be released by Agonia Rec after the summer, and on that time the band will be tourin as well.

-Norwegian B.M. band ENDEZZMA will do 4 gigs in Germany and The Netherlands startin 6 June.

1st Summer Weekend Metal

-Anders Odden and Rene Jansen have started rehearsin together again. Its not under the name CADAVER, but the music, which Ive not heard, I would presume is in this music vein. They've had a couple of rehearsals, playin their own material with a complete band.

-PrimeSvartravn uploaded a new mobile-made MYSTICUM vid of the song «Crypt Of Fear» to youtube this weekend. He has also let his V-guitar go through a burnin-process, makin it look like its been on a journey through Hell and back.

-LAVATORY (cool D.M. from Malaysia) will have their next release out on Pulverised Rec. LAVATORY's debut-album «Transgression» was released by Slaughterhouse Rec last year. Still availalbe from Slaughterhouse Rec: lim.edit. hand numbered CD in A5 packagin, WINTERLORE: «Four Swords Against The Pious» (Utah based B.M. band w/Nordic theme).

-Debut EP of Swedish MAJALIS «Cathodic Black» to be released by Pulverised Rec 8 July. The song «Altar» can be streamed through the label's soundcloud. This is sooo atmospheric music!! I just wish they do somethin about the vocal for the future, to get it in the same vein as the music.

-BLACK STAR RIDERS (with THIN LIZZY members) debut-album «All Hell Breaks Loose» out on Nuclear Blast since the end of May. I think it was a good decision Oct 2012 not use the THIN LIZZY name nomore, though BSR song «Bound For Glory» actually sounds like the very good old THIN LIZZY! and the typical Irish mood on the song «Kingdom Of The Lost». Also available through Nuclear Blast new CHILDREN OF BODOM music vid for new album «Halo Of Blood» to be released 7 June.

-I leave u for some more shootin practise of strategy now. Ive got hold of some strange vinyls, lets find out till last time if I mention them or not, and in the meantime Cheers! (its summer and dont forget the water, ellers kommer kanskje tømmermannen).

That Metal

-Molon Lave Records, active in the early 90s, releasin VARATHRON, MOONSPELL etc closed in 1995, but started up again this year. Sellin 2nd Hand vinyls. I dont know if they have plans for new releases.

-Brand new website launched 25 May www.varathron.com U will find news on their upcomin album and split with SATHANAS there.

-Jason Newsted to appear on That Metal Show (VH1 Classic) when it returns to screen tomorrow. NEWSTED did the last show for the US warm-up 24 May, tourin Europe now and USA tour start 5 July.

-Rob Zombie and his guitarist John 5 also to appear on That Metal Show, on the 6th of June. Rob Zombie US summer tour 2013. New single «Dead City Radio And The New Gods Of Supertown» and new album «Venomous Rat Regeneratin Vendor» both released 23 April. I like both the «Dead City Radio...» song and video.

-Was drinkin beer and listenin to STAHLGEWITTER last night. 1995 founded Hardrock/Hardcore Metal band who's not afraid of history and, unlike most Germans, they dont try to censor history. Sieg Heil!

-BURNING FALLUS: «Results Not Promises!» (digital release worldwide through Tmina Rec/Believe Digital, out last month). So far, this band from Belgium made down-to-earth songs with sex and drinkin content. They describe their style «The Workin Class Rock» (which is also the name of their self-financed debut-album from 2009). Cool and bit funny Heavy Metal which makes me wanna open a beer...yeaahhh! I think that's what I gonna do now.

ABORYM without morality

-Back from the studio where one PERDITION HEARSE song been transfered for a CD to be released this year. Tell u no more.

-New ABORYM album (double) to be released 28 May by Agonia Rec. The album feature cover of songs by IRON MAIDEN, PINK FLOYD and NINE INCH NAILS. The offical teaser from last month indicate the album to be a collection of violence and annihilation (which describe the album in a better way than the «peace & love» version of this month...if its «peace & love» music u want u will be disappointed!). Their new songs sounds as if they are more mature & self-confident, with a «give-a-fuck-about-things» attitude, portraied as very extreme and experimental Industrial Metal. ABORYM is still the real deal, over the edge and I cant trace any morality.

-Also out on Agonia Rec since Feb TOMBSTONE HIGHWAY debut full-length album «Ruralizer». This Italian band play great Southern Rock with a Metal sound.

-«Volcanic Eyes» from the forthcomin PEST album «The Crowning Horror» (to be released by Agonia Rec 18 June) is pretty fuckin cool Heavy Metal soundin Black Metal. Can now be streamed on Agonia's soundcloud.

-WITCH GRAVE (H.M. band formed in Denmark in 1979) will have their 2nd full-length album out on Hell's Headbangers 13th July (also out on Hammerheart Rec). Tell u the truth, I dont remember them from the old days, but they be tourin Europe this summer, first gig in Denmark 31 May.

-Debut album of INTÖXICATED (formed in Germany 2009) out on Hell's Headbangers Rec 14 May. «Röck 'N Roll Hellpatröl».

-Can also hear various comps for free on the Hell's Headbangers website, and they have lots of distro things.

-US Heavy Metal soundin B.M. band MIDNIGHT (Live Chile) and NUNSLAUGHTER (Live Colombia, unfortunately in poor quality), both bands have live-clips from their shows in May available.
